AGED MAN SUCCUMBS
MOTOR VAN OUT OF CONTROL.
GISBORNE, March 18.
Struck by a tradesman’s van, which mounted the footpatu. William FI a/el i. aged 64 years, a greengrocer, sustained head and back injuries, which later proved fatal. Deceased was opening his premises for the day’s business, when a van, driven by Jack Elliott, got out ol control, apparently through the failure ol the steering gear, and the machine careered oil to the foot.v.iv, snapping two verandah posts and carrying Hu/ell ■ • l the bonnet for a distance ol over hall a chain, finally crushing him against a fence.
Deceased leaves a wife, three adult:
