There were some price improvements at the live stock sale to-day at Addington. . -•

There was a larger yarding of beef tiie quality being good, especially in steers. There was little quotable change in values. Light weight heilers were selling freely. Very heavy weights were easier. Heavy steers sold to £l2 17s 6d, prime £8 17s 6d to £9,12s 6d, light from £6 os. Heavy heifers sold to £lO 17s 6d, prime £6 5s to £7 12s 6d, medium £4 15s to £5 ss; beet cows to £9 17s 6d, prime £4 15s to £6 7s 6d; inferior from 50s. There was a large yarding of tat lambs of mixed quality. Prices were well maintained. Prime heavy weights were in excess of schedule rates. Best heavy lambs sold to 22s lOd, prime 17s to 18s 6d, medium 13s to 16s 6d, light from 10s.

There was a large yarding of store lambs, and keen competition, the recent rain bringing, on the feed and creating good buying strength. Best grades were up to 12s 3d, and inferior sold from 3s.

There was a large yarding of store sheep and good attendance of buyers. Competition generally was good and recent values were maintained. There was a large yarding of fat sheep, following short entries in the previous two weeks. Values were easier. Show wethers sold to 25s 7d; extra prime heavy 19s to 22s 6d, prime heavy 17s to 18s 9d, medium prime 15s to 16s 6d, medium 12s 6d to 14s 6d, light Rs to 12s. Extra ewes sold to IDs 4d, prime 12s 6d to 16s 6d, medium 9s to 12s, inferior 6s 6d to Bs, aged 4s to 6s. There was a medium yarding of fat pigs, chiefly heavy porkers. This class was easier. Handy weights were firmer. Baconers sold at late rates. Porkers fetched 28s to 325, heavier to 37s 6d; choppers £2 to £4 18s 6d; baconers 28s 6d to 44s 6d, heavier 47s 6d to 525, extra heavy to £3 ss.
