W* • It is understood pblice learned, by chance, of a", young man who has told a story tliat, on the night of the murder, he was in an hotel, when two men whom he know, 'entered, asking for a drink. Both were agitated, and in conversation, one allegedly said that they had settled Blomfield. Their story was that they had gone to town in a car, and one called on Blomfield to arrange for an easier payment of a debt they owed. He returned to the car, and tdd his companion of Blomfield’s refusal to meet the request. It is -alleged that, taking a spanner from under the seat, he declared that be wouldJmake Blomfield see reason, and returned to the shop.
