Rao, a Hindu ascetic, in a demonstration of his powers, before Lord Lothian and members of the Indian franchise committee, and prominent British Indian citizens at Bombay. s Members of the audience stood beside ®ao during the performance. They put the nails into his mouth and inspected the snake’s fangs before he bit its head off. The hands of one of the guests was burned'with the strong nitric acicl, while handling the bottle, the contents of which Rao drank.
