BIG AUCKLAND PROTEST. AT GOVERNMENT’S ACTION. By Telegraph- — Per Press Association AUCKLAND, March 13. There was a mass meeting of about HOOO people in the Domain this afternoon, at which addresses' were given by Trades Union leaders. The following resolution was carried: “That this meeting of Auckland citizens protests against the Government’s intention to amend the Arbitration Act in the manner proposed, and against its expressed intention to impose a further cut in the civil service salaries and wages; and this meeting calls upon all of the persons concerned to support their national organisations in any combined resistance that may lie deemed necessary ”
