KIWI DEFEATS HOKITIKA. Playing at the Mental ground Kiwi defeated Hokitika by 72 runs Batting first Kiwi scored 53 (Spence 24). For Hokitika Toohey took 5 for 13. Hokitika replied with 37. Parker taking 4 for 11 and Stapleton 3 for 4; Kiwi’s second innings totalled 84 (Parker 45 not out), O. Jolly securing 6 for 29. Hokitika scored only 28 in their second effort, Stapleton getting 4 for 9.

HIGH SCHOOL MATCH. In the match played at the Technical School ground on Saturday between the,'' Hokitika District High School and Grey Technical School team, the former team won on the first innings by 50 runs, after an interesting game. The local team batted first and scored only 65 (Tindale 13, Higgett and Ashby 12). Stapleton secnired three wickets for 4, Denia two for 14, and Baird two for 10. Hokitika compiled 115 in the first innings (Adamson 43). There was only one extra. Ashby took six for 44 and Blair 4 for 47. The Technical team in their second innings declared with six wickets down for 132 (Ashby not out 61 and Biaid 23). At stumps Hokitika, had lost three wickets for 77 (Adamson 40).
