MANAWATU WINS SHIELD. (United Press Association. —By Electric Tel egraph.—Copyright.) (Received this dav at 10.15 a.m.) LONDON, March 8. A display of eight hundred lambs from seven districts of the North Island, which were entered for the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board competition, attracted much attention at Smithfield. Crowds of wholesalers and retailers inspected them and the concensus of opinion is that the quality and appearance are excellent, j Judges awarded the Challenge Shield I for the best district to Manawatu. Prizes for best pens.—First pen No, 47, Wairarapa ; second pen No. 20, \\ airarapa ; third pen No. 32, Manawatu. Ladv Wilford represented the High Commissioner.
