WINTRY WEATHER

MILD IN ENGLAND SEVERE ON CONTINENT, (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received this day at 10.15 a.m.) LONDON, March 8. In contrast to the mildness of the weather in Britain, Southern Europe is experiencing an exceptionally severe winter. Bucharest reports that the town of Sulina, on the Great Delta of the Danube, is isolated and the Mayor is pathetically appealing for succour. The telephone is the only means of communication. The town was frozen in, a fortnight ago. There are no mails or newspapers and it is now almost without food. Relief ships were instantly' gripped in the ice. There are grave fears that a catastrophic flood will follow a thaw which has begun in the Upper Danube.
