CAR INSURANCE. LITIGATION IN SUPREME COURT (By Telegraph—ter tress Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 29. Mr .Justice Reed, in the Supreme Court, is hearing actions by the Mercantile Finance Corporation, Ltd., Christchurch, against the New Ze?tland Insurance Company, and the Queensland Insurance Company, arising from an insurance policy on a sedan car which was damaged in Beckett's garage in April by an incendiary fire. The Queensland Company case was deferred for a separate hearing. Replying to the Judge’s question as to whether the litigation was due to the suspicion of arson, counsel said that other companies had paid out on the claims, and the defendant companies had also settled another claim.
