ANTI-COMMUNIST POLICY
A FEDERAL MOVE. (Australian Press Association.) (Received 10.35 a.m.) CANBERRA, February 20. It is expected that before tlie middle of the year, several Governments anti-Communist policy will be in operation. It is proposed to amend the existing Act, extending the definition of unlawful association, and removing evidence restrictions. The penalty for membership of unlawful associations is twelve months, and for sedition speeches or writings or soliciting
subscriptions to unlawful associations, six months.
Further investigations of the Commonwealth powers of deportation are being made before an announcement is made upon this subject.
