MEETING OF N,Z. COUNCIL. WELLINGTON, Feb. 25. At a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Football Assertion a letter was read from the South African Association stating that if it was decided to visit Java there could he little prospect of an y round tour to include Australia and New Zealand owing to the distance to be travelled and the time involved. Any visit to Australia and New Zealand at any time would need to he quite apart from other considerations. There was little likelihood of arranging a tour to Java this year. There was a feeling in some quarter., that if a team were sent from South Africa in 1933 it might he preferable to ask Australia and New Zealand to receive it, the idea being that the dominions should receive preference il possible. Letters received from the "W ellingtou and Otago Associations were unfavourable to receiving a team from Australia this season in view of the financial position. An Auckland motion to abandon the tour was carried unanimously. The annual meeting of the association will he held on Friday, April Bth, at Wellington. The travelling expenses of the delegates will he paid.
