“WHEN I RULE.”

DE VALERA’S POLICY. LONDON, Feb. 19. Mr de Valera’s first interview with a British newspaper is published in the “News-Chronicle” under the heading “When I Buie Ireland.” He confidently reveals that the “aim of all Irish Nationalists is the complete independence of United Ireland, which, he contends, is consistent v ith a certain voluntary association with •Britain and the Dominions. “As Premier, I would,” he says, “negotiate trade agreements with them, while protecting Irish industries. I intend to abolish the oath, because it is a farce and a source of disorder. Decency demands its removal. We cannot use force to remove the Ulster boundary, nevertheless the partition of Ireland was the greatest of crimes against our nation.”
