The match between the South A Incans and Auckland was continued at Eden Park to-day,tiv visitors passing Auckland’s first innings total with two wickets in hand. On the previous day Auckland scored 266 for eight wickets, aim continuing to-day, chiefly through Matheson, . who was unbeaten with 83, Auckland carried the total to 342. The visitois did not ..start well, but a splendid third wicket partnership between Mitchell and lay lor added 107 runs. Taylor played brilliant cricket, compiling a century, and Miteheil played a stubborn defensive game for 122 not ouL. Allcott finished with five wickets for 72 runs. Total for eight wickets 352 ENGLISHMEN FOLLOW ON. IN MATCH WITH JAMAICANS. KINGSTON (Jamaica), Feb. 23. Tennyson’s English cricketers scored 354, in their first innings against the Jamacians. The chief scorers were: Kemp Welsh 105, and Chapman 1. They were forced to follow on, and lost four wickets for 114 in their second innings, when play ended for the day. They need 235 to save an innings defeat. The Jamacians in their first innings, made 702 runs for five wickets, declared.
