HASTINGS WINS SHIELD. By ' ieleyrnvl > —/'or /\ tancAnfion) WELLINGTON, Feb. 24. In winning of the Second B. Grade Test Selection in the New Zealand Championship Band Contest to-night, and securing second place in the first test on Monday last, the Hastings .Citizens Band obtained the highest aggregate points in the two tests. The Boosey Shield for the Band receiving the highest musical points in the tests and quicksteps went to the Oamaru Municipal Band. Results of to-night’s classes were as follows: Hastings Citizens’ Band: First test 122pts; second .test I2opts; aggregate 247. Oamaru Municipal Band: 121/123 244. Nelson Garrison Band: 118/123 —241. Christchurch Municipal Band: 120/120 -240. Dunedin City Tramways Band: 115/124-239. Masterton Municipal Band: 123/116 239. Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Band: 121/117—238. Stratford Municipal Band: 119/117 — 236. Miramar Silver Band: 119/115 —234. Carterton Municipal Band: 116/116 — 232.
