WEDDING BELLS

FLEMING —THOMPSON. St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Hokitika, was yesterday the scene of a wedding deservedly popular and interesting, when the Rev. G. Naylor joined in holy marriage, Louisa May, third daughter of Mrs Thompson and the late Mr H. A. Thompson of Hokitika to Allan Cedric Fleming, of Fairlie.

The service was fully choral, the bride being a popular member. Mr R. Tennent presided at the organ, and the Church was delightfully decorated by many girl friends. The bride was given away by her uncle, Mr L. Hills, of Wellington, and was gowned in an exquisite frock of ivory satin, 'benute appliqued in georgette, and falling in rich folds to the floor, a beautiful lace veil arranged on a caplet of pearls and clasped at the sides with tiny clusters of orange blossoms and a sheaf of St. John’s lillies and crenpn roses completed a chairming picture, ’[lie bride was attended by her sisters Misses Nell and Flora Thompson, attired in dainty frocks of softest green georgette, ankle length, and fully flared, made witli fislni collar and double peplutn basques a i)il shoes to tone. Picture hats and pretty bouquets of autumn tinted chrysanthemums and maiden Hair fern made a dainty pair. The bridegroom was ably attended by In's friend Mr .). Russell with Mr Alex Cowie as groomsman. At (he reepetion Mrs Thompson received her many guests ancl was attired in a smart frock of navy silk morn nThe reception was afterwards hold in All Saints’ Hall’, a very enjoyable afternoon being spent, and the young friends of the bride and groom wore entertained socially in the evening.
