WESTPORT TRAGEDY
YOUNG SOLICITOR FOUND DEAD (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) WESTPORT, Feb. 22. A startling discovery was made in Westport at midday, being that of the dead body of A. L. Black, who for some time had been practising as a solicitor at Westport, and who, until the end of 1931, was in the employ of Mr J. J. Moloney, solicitor. The body was found lying outside the river entrance to the Westport Domain Gardens, the circumstances pointing to death from poisoning, self administered.
As far ns can be ascertained, there was no apparent' motive, financial or otherwise, for self-destruction. The deceased was only thirty-four years of age. He was a married with four young children. Deceased was both a popular and esteemed citizen. He was a son of Mr Black, who some time ago was on the underground staff of the Westport Coal Company at Millerton. It is understood that a note has been found addressed to bis wife.
