YACHT SUNK
STRUCK 13Y WATERSPOUT. SYDNEY WEATHER EXTREMES. SYDNEY, February 21. Yesterday was extremely hot in the city, the temperature reaching 100. G at 2.40 p.m. At 5.30 p.m. sudden fierce squalls came up out of the south, when sailing craft of all descriptions, which had been engaged in various yacht races or pleasure jaunts on the
harbour were on their way riome. When the storm came many of the smaller fry capsized. A dense black pall of cloud settled clown, and two waterspouts appeared among the big yachts, one striking the twenty-one-footer, N.S.W., overturning it. The owner, Mr Wedtlerbtirn, manager of Sydne y Femes, Limited, and the crew had just time to tie a buoy to a. long line to mark the spot where the craft was sinking, when they found themselves in the water. They were secured by a launch piloted by .Mr Dally .Messenger, who raced to the scene.

Fortmiately, among all the upsets there were no personal casualties.
