OBITUARY
The death of Miss Christina Baybutt, the youngest daughter of Mr and the late Mrs Baybutt formerly of Totara Flat occurred at Palmerston North yesterday as the result, of a motor accident last Thursday in which she sustained injuries. Her father, Mr Daniel Baybutt, who is at present an inmate of the Auckland Hospital, for many years kept a store at Totara flat. Besides her father Miss Baybutt is survived by a sister, Mrs G. McKenzie, of Masterton, and one brother, Mr John Baybutt, schoolteacher of Auckland.
Mr John O’Meara, a respected resident of Totara Flat, and a wellknown farmer passed away last night > at the ago of 4o years. A native of g the district, he had spent all his life ) there in agricultural pursuits, He t was the son of Mrs Catherine and the late Mr Michael O’Meara, and besides his mother, is survived by three sisters, and two brothers. The sisti, tors are Sister St Augustine, of the Nelson Convent, and Sister St Paul, of New Plymouth Convent, and Miss Gertrude O’Meara, of Totara Flat, the brothers are Mr Con O’Meara of' Auckland, and Mr Win. He entered the diplomatic service in i 1877, was British Envoy ExtraordinI ay at Lisbon in 1905, Ambassador to Madrid in 1906 and to Vienna 1913-11. He was Special Ambassador to South America in 1918 and retired in 1919. West Coast racing votaries will learn with regret of the death of Mr E. E. (Ted) Yuile, the well-known trainer, who had been a frequent visitor to West Coast meetings- His death occurred on Sunday at Levin. At the recent midsummer meetings, lie brought the horses "War Fille, Dick Whittington and Rich Harvest to the Coast. The death took place last evening at the Grey River Hospital, of Miss Euphemia Dargan daughter of Mr and Afrs T. Dargan, of Mount Street. Her demise at the early age of 17 years, will be regretted by a very wide circle of friends. She was a native of Waiuta and had been in ill health for some months. The death occurred at the Bailor Hospital on Sunday evening at 10 o’clock, of a well known and highly respected resident of this district in the person of All’s AVinifred ALargaret Burley, wife of Air James H. Burley, Buller road. Deceased, who was 57 years of age, was a native of the Grey Valley being the daughter of the I late. Timothy Millions, of Kamnka, | and had resided on the Buller Road ) for the last 28 years.
