NEW MOTOR SHIP
IN TOW OF GABRIELLA.
BREAKDOWN REPORTED

Napier, Feb. 21
The Holm Shipping Coy’s., new motprship “Argus, ’ wliich called at, Napier on Friday for supplies, en route from Papeete to Wellington, lias broken down, and is being towed to Wellington by the “Gabrjella.” The Argus left Napier at 5 pan. on Friday tor Wellington, and between 9 and 10 p.lll. on Saturday, the Pakura, bound from Gisborne to Wellington, passed the Argus in tow of the Gra Uriel la ten miles north of Castlepoint. Neither the Argus nor the Gabriella is fitted with wireless. The Gabriella used the morse code to request the Pakura to radio Wellington reporting that the Argus had brokendown, and that the Gabriella was towing her to Wellington. Tlie Pakura however, could not get Wellington by radio-and came on to port. Captain Miles reported the position to Captain Holm, who later this afternoon telephoned the keeper of Pa Miser's Lighthouse, but he had seen no sign of the two ships. It is considered that they will reach Wellington before to-morrow 11101 ning. The nature of the breakdown is not known.
