HEAT WAVE
CONDITIONS IN SYDNEY. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, Feb. 21. Yesterday was an extremely hot day in the city, tin l temperature reaching 100.6 degrees at 2.40 p.m., but at 5.30 p.m. sudden and fierce squalls came up out of the south. Sailing craft of nil descriptions, which had been engaged in various yacht races and pleasure jaunts on Sydney harbour, were on their way home when the storm came, and they found themselves in the water, out of which danger they were taken by a launch piloted by "Dally” Messenger (once noted footballer), who raced to the scene. Among the victims was the yacht A raimitta, the former champion 18I’ooler. Fortunately, among all of the upsets, there were no personal casuallies.
