The "Daily Telegraph's” turf correspondent states: Open warfare threatens between the bookmakers and tlie Betting Control Board, which conducts tntalisators on the racecourse. The bookmakers arc incensed bv the operations of the Company, which is operating in many cities, and and is simply transmitting, on commission, the bets received to the tolalisa tors on the racecourses.
Tim bookmakers contended that the Control Board, in accordance with the Act should restrict its activities to ra('('course betting only. A meeting of the starting price bookmakers lias been called to combat the tote by offering clients live per cent, above tlm tote odds.
