Mr Forbes stated to-day that the coming session should be completed by the end of March. “The work will not be allowed to drag on,” lie said. “The Government are not going to submit to anything in the form of determined opposition. The hours of the sittings will be prolonged, but this will not be until the second week The Address-in-Kep.v Debate is commencing oil Thursday. One of the first things.to he done will be the ratification of the Canadian Trade Treaty.”

ECONOMY COMMISSION’S REPORT
WELLINGTON, February 22
The procedure of the opening of the special session of Parliament to-mor-row will be different from that of the ordinary session. Members are summoned to be in attendance to-morrow, but the officia' opening ceremony will hot he performed by the GovernorGeneral till Wednesday afteriiooli. A Commission from the Legislative Council will direct the House of Representative# to elect the Speaker to-mor-row, and the Clerk Of the House will conduct the swearing-in of members. Tim Speech from the Throne on Wednesday is not expected to he lengthy, as the Government is awaiting the interim report of the Economy Commission before framing an important part ofl Legislation. The Address-in-Reply will be moved on Thursday evening.
