H TEL ROBBED

£lO7 STOLEN FROM SAFE
WELLINGTON, Feb. 19
Cash and notes to the value of £lO7 were stolen from the sale of the Post Office' Hotel, Wellington, some time between midnight and 6.30 o’clock this morning. The indications point to the burglary having been committed .somewhat i.i a hurry, and the thief, or thieves, failed to take a further £63 iu notes wfiieh were lying in a steel drawer in Hie safe.
In the opinion of the proprietor of the hotel, Mr S. J. Whit ford, the thief was in the building before rinsing time al 6 o'clock, w) ') the trout door was closed. Mr Whit ford considers Hurt the ihiei'*sem!'tei' himself upstairs, and lay in wait for a suitable opportunity to gain possession of the keys, which Mis Wh it ford kept under her pillow.
