FREE EXCHANGE
FARMERS’ UNION DEMAND. (By Telegraph — l’cr Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 3. The exchange question was discussed by tlie Dominion {Executive of the Farmers’ 'Union, this morning, but no finality was readied. After -a lengthy address in support of the case for free exchange?, the President (Mr Poison) moved 'that the- Executive ,supports’ islld...endorses tihe action Of the Filtiri6ra’ Exchange -Committee, in demanding a fi'ifle exchange, and pledges itself to support 'anything to that ond. Although" the meeting was favourable, the motion was not put to the vote, pending an address this afternoon by Mr Davidson, General'Manager of the Bank of New 'South Wales.
Following on an address given by IMr A. G. Davidson, the General .Manager of ithe Bank of N'ew South Wales, to the Fanners’ Union Dominion Executive to-day, on the exchange question, the Executive of the Union adopted 'Mr W. J. iPolson’s motion as follows:—“That the Executive supports, and endorses ithe action of the Farmers’ Exchange Committee in demanding free exchange, and places itself behind the organisation in anything it may do towards that end,’’
