FAT LAMBS
WEST COAST DRAFT.
CHRISTCHURCH, January 30.
Some particularly good drafts of fat lambs have been arriving lately from the West Coast for killing at the freezing works. A two-truck lot of South-down-Komney cross lambs, treated at the North Canterbury Freezing Company’s Works at Kaiapoi this week, averaged over 451 b. The lambs weir bred anj fattened by Mr H. N, Adamson of Matainui.
The weights illustrate the excellent growing season that is being experienced on the other side of the ranges, and the fattening capacity of the pastures.
■ Canterbury stockowners, and particularly lamb fatteners, at the present time could do with a little of what the West. Coast is regarded as having a surplus of—rain.
