N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS. J* (By Tsleyraph —Per Press Association) WANGANUI. January 28. The New Zealand Croquet Cham- , pionsliips concluded to-day in fine A weather. The remaining semi finals of the* New Zealand Open Championship between Mrs Tiffen and Mrs i’itcarthly was won bv the former-,’ but in the play-off in the final, Mr A. G. F. Ross of Christchurch, won decisively. In the first game, Ross put his opponent in first and Mi's Tiffen,'' went to a position near the fourth corner hoop. After a little manoeurering, Hess managed to establish a break, which took bis black clip to four hack. After a fine long shot, Nils Tiffen made nine hoops by means of a careful break, but Ross finished the game by means- of a triple peel. The second game was finished off by Ross with another triple peel Results; New Zealand Open Championship—-semi-final: Airs Tiffen beat Mrs Pitcartlily 20—16, 26—17. Final: Mr A. G. Ross beat Mrs Tiffen 26—9, 26—0. ( Ladies Championship, final; Mrs Kibble-White beat Mrs Simpson 26 22. 16—26, 26—10. Post Entry Competition, final: Mrs Lewis heait Mrs Benfell.
