The members of tiie Jesuit Order have had little opportunity to protest against the suppression of them in Spain by the Government, which is confiscating the property of eighty communities of the Order. Educationists in Spain are now wondering how to replace these eminent Jesuit teachers, who have been specialising in mathematics, physics and philosophy. >■ ANARCHISTS CANCEL STRIKE. DEFENCE MEASURES TAKEN. MADRID, January 25. The Under-Secretary for the Interior announces that calm prevails. The authorities will continue the precautions, to-morrow. Anarchists’ cancelled a general strike, which had been fixed to take place throughout the country to-day. At Seville, there is a minor outbreak, idling trams and taxis. Communists attacked the Barcelona University, but the students effectively repelled them, The authorities have machine guns jp the streets and planes overhead. COMMUNISTS CAUSE CONCERN. BARCELONA, January 25. Troops have been hurriedly ordered to Alcorisa, near he city of Saragossa, where revolutionaries have proclaimed a Communist Government, and have seized the municipal funds also the railway and dynamite stores. RED REVOLUTION FAILS. MADRID, January 26. A Red revolution that was scheduled for January 25th was a failure, though outbreaks occurred in several small towns and many .arrests were made.
