MANY DEATHS
RIOTING IN SALVADOR. SITUATION NOW IN HAND. ; United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) NEW YORK, January 25. While unconfirmed private advices asserting a thousand or more persons were killed over Sunday in the Salvador uprising were received here, the American Legation there has reported to Washington that a number ol prominent persons have been assassinated in the interior, although the. capital has not been attacked, and President .Martinez, stated that lie has ‘‘the situation completely dominated.” The Salvador Republican Government officials have announced than their forces are in complete control of tile country, and have suppressed all the Communistic outbreaks.
They suspect that the movement has been inspired by Soviet agents. The flower of the Salvadorean aristocracy, armed to the teeth, patrolled the city’s streets, and assisted the Government in stamping out the insurrection.
