ADELAIDE, January 25. AY itli tin l temperature over one hundred degrees, South Australia t O -day tackled its up-hill fight valiantly against the South African cricketers, but- their hopes of victory later vanished.
Richardson made a sound 61, and Nitsehke scored 44. Both of them were, run out. The decision against Nitsehke, however, was questioned. Ilia umpire was hooted. Richardson was not comfortable at the wicket, as he had an injured hand.
Lonergan was the mainstay of the South Australian side, he giving a line display of ]eg strokes. He scored 119 runs. His innings lasted for 194 minutes. He hit ten fours.

BRADMAN 1 AGAIN. HIS 37th. CENTURY. SYDNEY, January 25. In tlio Sheffield Shield match between Victoria and New South Wales, the New South Wales team, after scoring 389 mn« for four wiekest, declared their second innings closed. In the first innings they had scored 348, while Victoria jn their first made 204. To-day Don Bradman scored 167 runs. He thus has now secured his thousand runs in first-class cricket this season, which is the fourth year iu succession in which lie has recorded this feat. His century to-day was the thirty-seventh one of his career. Other .scorers were: Singleton 40, Kippax 44, and McCabe not out 103. McCabe made hi* runs in 83 minutes. Victoria in their second innings have lost none for 21.
