The Spanish Cabinet lias specially considered the renewed outbreak of strikes and riots, which have occurred throughout the country. The Cabinet decided that it would punish with equal severity extremists, both right and left, involving the full force of the law for the defence of the Republic. The Cabinet’s decision is equivalent to the imposing of martial law. ATTACKS ON CHURCHES. MADRID, Jan. 20. A disquieting feature has been the renewal of the attempts to burn down churches and convents, which last year led to the destruction of many art treasures. Moreover the strike epidemic in maiiy quarters is taking a revolutionary turn. Workers in Galicia have declared a strike throughout that province, be ginning to-day. A number of men have been arrested in Valencia, when ill the act of placing bombs against tile walls of a convent. ACCUSED OF AIDING COMMUNISTS, MADRID, Jan 20.
