FIGURES FOR CHRISTMAS.

WELLINGTON, Jan. 14

Official figures of the patronage accorded the Christmas air mail services which were organised throughout the. Dominion on Christmas Eve sho'w that in all 17,027 articles were conveyed by the service. Of the totals given in the following list the mail from Palmerston North included matter from Auckland and district which arrived by train for carriage by the a'r service. The Wellington total al o includes mail matter which arrived from the South Island by Steamer for despatch by air to northern centres. The figures are Gisborne 2732, Hastings 1382, Palmerston North 4788, Wanganui’ 486, Hawera 615, New Plymouth 199, Wellington 4059, Blenluim 748, Christchurch 864, Tiraaru 574, Oamaru 348, Dunedin 233; total 17,027.
