6VRRYBODYB PICTURES. “A LADY SURRENDERS.” In “A Lady Surrenders,” special all-talking picture production of John Erskine’s famous novel, “Sincerity,” which comes to th© Princess Theatre to-night, two famous Broadway stage stars, Genevieve Tobin and Itose Hobart, make their screen debut.

Miss Tobin, who plays a featured role in "A Lady Surrenders,” was signed direct by Universal from Her big Broadway hit, “Fifty Million Frenchmen,” which followed a, year of stardom in the name part in “The Trial of Mary Dugan” in London. Miss Tobin is an established stage star, one of ier other biggest successes being “Polly Preferred.”

Because of the sensational success scored by her in “A Lady Surrenders” Universal has placed her under longterm contract.

Rose Hobart, who also makes her filfri debut in “A Lady Surrenders,” was a Broadway star for several seasons before Universal signed her for talking pictures. She has always been noted for her ability to play sophisticated roles, and in “A Lady Surrenders” she has a part which calls for ultrgrsmartness and sophistication. Ony of her biggest stage successes was “Death Takes a Holiday.” Featured in “A Lady Surrenders” with Miss Tobin and Miss Hobart are Conrad Nagel, one of the greatest favourites of the talking screen, and Basil Rathbone, famous Broadway actor.
