The New Zealand Department of Health is in receipt of information from the Australian Health Department which shows both New South Wales and Queensland are experiencing an epedemic, fortunately not very extensive, of infantile paralysis. The position in New Zealand is normal. There have been a few sporadic cases such as commonly occur at this time of the year. The Department, however, as. a precautionary measure has taken necessary action to ensure a supply of convalescent serum in the event of any widespread outbursts of this disease. Arrangements have been made for public hospitals to have available a supply of serum.
