The employers emphasise the absurdity o? a minority vote of a thousand lightermen involving in idleness 40,000 dockers, who have accepted the reduction in wages. DOCKERS REMAIN LOYAL. COMMUNISTS BAD HEARING. (Received this day at 10.16 a.m.) LONDON, January 6. The Thames side dockers unmistakably showed at lunch time that they do not intend to be dragged by the heels into striking. Three Communists mounted a box at the Surrey Docks and taunted five hundred dockers with playing into their “bosses’ ” hands, and urged them to join the strike. “That’s our affair! You get back to Russia!” were the answering sallies. Tiny*'paper bags, filled with red, white and blue powder, came from all directions and bespattered the Communists, who made a hasty retreat omid the chorus of “Three Cheers for the Red, White and Blue.’’ The police had to escort them to the train.
