Wide Berlin Communist disorders have broken out in the Ruhr and Aix-la-Chapelle districts, supplementing an attempt to cripple shipping by a seamen’s strike. Three hundred and fifty 9ommunist leaders were arrested in thu Ruhr, including an entire general staff, which was surprised in secret headquarters near Recklinhausen. . At a number of pitheads armed pickets tried to drive back the miners who were attempting to resume work. Considerable looting of shops took place which the police, in armoured cars, stopped. ‘The Communists, however, reckoned without five mil.mns of unemployed in Germany who, as reserve labour,. are capable of breaking tlie best organised strike.
