BIG GOLD STRIKE
DISCOVERY IN PHILIPPINES. SPECIMENS’ REMARKABLE VALUE- ( United Press Association—By Electria Telegraph, —Copyright.) NF.AV YORK, January 4. The ‘'New York Tunes’A Mianila correspondent reports a great gold discovery in ithe Philippines. He states: ‘‘The Big Wedge Gold Mining Company, which is operating the Atnimok Properties, near Daguio, report that Mr Arthur Doe, of San Francisco, a mining engineer, while inspecting thenproperties, has made what is apparently the most sensational gold strike in the history of the Philippine Islands, a strike which, if true, will be one of the world’s major gold discoveries,” -Samples of the ore found by A!r Doe have been assayed in Manila, and they show remarkable value in straight commercial, ore, namely, a value of at least two thousand dollars to the ton.
