CREW’S ANXIOUS TIME. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 23. The Melanesian Mission N steamer “Southern Cross,” which returned, to Auckland to-day from a cruise of the mission field was at the Solomon Islands at the time, of the recent disastrous earthquake, and during her cruise through, the ' group she carried a number of the missionaries, who were recuperating after their. recent exciting and strenuous experiences.
