STOCK SALES. Messrs M. Houston and Co. /report that Monday’s sale at the Arahura Yards they, submitted 23 head of fat cattle to public competition, the buyers being in attendance. The total entiy was disposed of at very satisfactory prices, ox beef realising on an evernge of 28s per hundred, and cow beef from 22s to 25s per hundred, according to quality. On account of AY. A. Jamieson, 2 bullocks at £lO ss, 1 at £lO ss. 2 at £lO, 2 at £9 10s, 2 at £lO ss, 2 at £9 15s, I at £8 17s Gd; on acouilt of J. W. Graham, 2 euwt at £4, 1 ut £2; on account a client, 2 cowS i'lt l7s 6d, 2 at £4 5?, 2 at £5 XOfe 2 at £4 10s. At the Christmas sale of fat stock nt the Oroymouth yards there was an entry of 30 head of prime fat cattle and 100 fat sheep and lambs. Beef prices ranged from 22$ 6d to 25s per 100 pounds, according to weight and quality. Prime quality bullocks realised up to £9 ss, lighter weights from £7 to £B, prime quality heifers up to £8 15s, cows frekn £4 to £7, i runner at £4. -Fat lambs realised from Us 6d to 14s, fat ewes at 13s, medium wethers to 12s.
ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, December 22. Beef and pork ‘sold better than lamb and mutton at Addington today. There was a small yarding of fat cattle. The quality was good. The market was firm, with a slight rise for best medium and light cattle. Best prime steers sold to £l2 12s 6d, prime £lO 2s 6d to £ll 5s 6d, medium !£8 15s to £9 12s 6d, light from £6 lCs. Heavy heifers sold to £9 12s 6d, prime i£7 5s to £8 7s 6d, medium £5 2s 6d to £6 ss, light from £4. Heavy cows sold to £9 7s 6d, prime £6 5s to £7 10s, medium £4 10s to £6; ethers from £2 ’ 15s. There was a small yarding of store sheep. The quality was poor. Sales were hard to make. The prices were easier. There was a large yarding of fat lambs. The quality was fair. Tho prices were easier. Best lambs sold up 'to 19s lOd, prime 15s to 18s, medium 12s to 14s 6d, .light and plain from 8s 6d. There was a large yarding of mutton. Prices were on a par with last week. The quality was fair to medium. Best wethers sold up to 19s 4d, prim?. 15s 6d to 18s, medium 13s to 14s 6d, light from 10s 6d. Heavy./' ewes sola up -to 19s 103, prime 10s : to 13s, medium 8s to 9s 6d, light and plain from 4s 6d. There was a small entry of fat pigs and a sharp rise in prices. Porkers sold 30s to 36s 6d, heavy 38s 6d to .12s, choppers £2 15s to £4. 18s 6d, light baeoners 42s 6tl to 44s 6d, heavy to 51s 6d. ; There |was ‘a small entry of store pigs. Values were on a par with last week.
