BIG CLOUD BURSTS
MUCH DAMAGE DONE

DUNEDIN, December 19
A terrific cioud buret occurred at Earnscleugh Elat-yesterday did much damage. Down the ridges of Blackman’s Gully, the water rushed in torrents. canwing away fences, and scouring orchards.
Water entered Air Kenrard’s house by the back door and passed out through the front door. The house bad to he vacated. Washouts on the railway and roads are also reported. In some orchards the whole of the soil was washed away. A large portion of Galloway Flat id under water, and Blackman’s Creek has changed its course, and is now flowing through lucerne paddocks.
