Mil’ Eric Hambro, at a luncheon in honour of Commendatory Piero Saltrni, who developed the process for the low temperature carbonisation of coal, expressed his confidence in the iSalemi system. He had decided himself «to shoulder the responsibility for the provision of initial funds for the development of the system, which promised, not only to restore prosperity to the British mining industry, but to rid the country of the smoke, and also to create a Home supply of oil and motor fuels.
