ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. lb. The prices of live stock were generally easier to-day at the Addington /Sale. There was an extra large yarding of fat cattle. The market was easier on account of the hot weather, and the over-supply, while the quality was medium, with few outstanding pens of steers. Aged and inferior sorts were almost unsaleable. Best heavy steers sold up to £l2 12s 6cl, prime £8 10s to £9 15s, medium £6 to. £7 10s, .light from £5 ss. Best heifers so.M to £lO 7s (id, prime £5 to £6 os, meuium £4 to £4 15s, light from ,£3 ss. ,r T Heavy cows sold up to £lO 7s 6d, medium £.5 to £6 ss, inferior from £2 ss.
There was a large yarding of mutton. The market was dasier, especially for ewes, , owing to an overlupply. The ‘quality was only fair. Best heavy wethers sold to 20s 4d, prime 16s 6d to 18s, medium 14s to 15s Gd, light from 11s. Best heavy ewes sold to 14s 4d, prime Us to 12s ■ 6d, medium 8s 6d to. 10s, light front 6s 6d. • .
There was a small yarding of store sheep, it being an unattractive entry, with a few pelts of good wethers from the Chathams. It was a dragging sale, prices being a shade easier. there was an extra large yarding of fat lambs, and a good demand, but a slight drop in values, Best heavy lambs sold up to 23s 6d, prime 16s 6d to 19s 9d, medium 13s Qd, to 15s 6a, light from 11s 6d, There was an extra large yarding or fat pigs, with an over-supply of porkers and baconers. There was a Dr S consignment from the Coast. Values were much easier. Porkers sold from 21s 6cl to 275, heavy 28s 6d to 34s 6d, choppers 32s 6d to £3 15s, baconers 35 s 6d to 38 s 6d, heavy 39s 6d to 44s 6d. , The store pigs were a medium entry. Weaners were in short supply. The market wa s steady and values easier. Calves were practically unsaleable.
