FALSE DECLARATION'S MADE. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 16. Two men were proiecuted - City Council Traffic Department to-day for making false declarations in support of their applications for motor driving licenses. The prosecutions were the first to be brought under the regulations. It was stated that one man, William James Ashdown, had, five years ago, been imprisoned for six months and deprived of, his license for a motor offence, and the other man had been * imprisoned for 7 days and his license suspended -for three months. Both had failed to state these facts on their application forms. The 'Magistrate said that the matter was "of great importance. He fined Ashdown £5 and costs, fn default one month’s imprisonment, and the other, Jack- Elliott, £4 arid cflsts.
