CRIME IN SYDNEY

BATTERED BY ROBBERS.

Two men bound mid gagged Mr Alexander Barry, a man seventy-five years of age, at his home in Paddington, and then battered his head futally. IHis wife rushed to his aid, and she was brutally attacked, receiving injuries which are expected to be fatal. Robbery is supposed to have been the object, as it is reported that Mr Barry was fairly well to do, and that he kept a large sum of money -in the house, where he bad lived for many yearsy because he feared to dea'l with the banks.
