BOXING

THE HOKITIKA CLUB. APPOINTMENT OF OFFICIALS. A meeting of the Boxing Club was held in Keller’s Rooms last evening when there were present: Messrs F. McGregor, (in the chair), F. Ballenger, M. McGavin, R. Furness, R. Lynn, 0. Malm, J. Stafford, J. Atkinson, D. Breeze, R. Bell. Apologies: E. Best, J. Johnson, R. Collett and R. Bell (acting secretary). The minutes of the previous meeting were read arid confirmed. The secretary reported being unable to match welters or heavier for six rounds, other than previously reported. It was decided to abandon this particular bout. In order to encourage novices, it wardecided, on the motion of Messrs Stafford and Lvnn that, if sufficient entries were offering, novice welter and lightweight events he added to the programme.

Bell; Cate keepers, 0. Hahn. J. Johnson ; Usher,- R. Lynn. ft was decided that the secretary communicate with the Railway Department requesting that late trains he delayed to 10.30 p.m.
