A meeting of the committee of the Returned Soldiers’ Association was held at the Soldiers’ Hall last evening, when matters in connection with the Christmas Tree and party for ex-sold-ier’s children were finalised. At the Magistrate’s Court Greymouth yesterday, before Mr H. P. Lawry S.M., Charles Robertson pleaded not guilty to the theft of coal valued at Is the property of an unknown person, from the Greymouth wharf on November 21st. “If you pay 10s into the Hospital fund, I will dismiss this charge undfr a section of the Act.
