OFF TO AMERICA. (United Press Association.—By Electric Tel egraph.—Copyright.) LONDON, December 6. Hon. W. Churchill'has sailed for America. POUND STERLING LONDON, December 6. The “Observer’s” diplomatic correspondent in reference to the stabilisation of the pound says:—British Ministers told M. Flauden this will not.be effected until -three conditions are fulfilled. Firstly, the British trade balance must be restored; secondly, the reparations problem must be settled on a permanent basis; thirdly, a guarantee is forthcoming that the international monetary policy will not again be misused as an instrument against thfe pound and if when restored to the gold basis.
ORIENT S.S. COY. LONDON, December 4. The Orient Steam Ship Company, after transfer of £IOO,OOO from . the contingencies account, shows a credit balance of £287,625. A dividend of five per cent.,-tax free has been, declared. The sum carried forward is £153,321.
