XMAS PICTURE SHOWS
A CHRISTCHURCH SUGGESTION. (By Telegraph—Ver Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, December 8. The City Council|;tdecided to-night, in dealing with the?'' request of the picture theatre proprietors to show films on Christmas Day, thet a small •sub-Committee should confer with the theatre proprietors to ascertain if they were prepared to show pictures of a religious character suitable to Christmas, and if they would contribute a reasonable percentage of the takings to the Mayor’s Relief 'of Distress Fund. The subject is to be discussed again by the Council next Monday.
