GAS IN THE HOME
Every year New Zealand uses more gas. Consumers numbering 182,000 are now being supplied by 46 gas undertakings throughout, the country, .which carbonise 221,600 tons of coal a year in manufacturing more -than four billion cubic feet of gas. TheYe are 113,000 gas cookers in use, indicating the degree of appreciation by housewives of the fact that gas is the most convenient and reliable as well as the most economic of all fuels. About five million pounds is now invested in the New Zealand gas industry. The gas industry is an aid to the country’s prosperity, and the growth of the use of gas in the home, helps all aspects* of the industry. Locally there is a good service, reliable and economical for all • who care to avail themselves of the reticulation. This is the season of the year when heads of households are looking round for useful gifts to the home. If a Christmas-box is in mind, or a New A’ear Gift, nothing could be more useful than the installation of gas appliances. , Gas is now used for so many purposes in the home, that it can be made’ a great money saver. At this season of the year it is by far the most economical fuel for cooking or heating purposes. It is so handy, and the modern appliances-. give such-.excellent service that the daily saving is.,.very material. Y . •;! v- ! - Gas appliances of all descriptions are procurable locally. They may be purchased under the time payment system, and in> addition the fullest information and instruction will be afforded, while to those requiring impractical demonstrations will be given, in the homes of the purchasers. Now is the time at the beginning of the summer to instal all gae appliances to reduce labour, . save time and manage more economically. All
