NEW ZEALANDER AT SYDNEY. STEDMAN BEATEN BY CHAMPION. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, November 30. The New Zealander, A.' Steelman, took part in exhibition. tennis games yesterday. He was opposed to the Australian champion, Crawford, who played superbly, his returns being described as unplayable, and were placed to perfection. He was very severe overhead, and also vodeyed well. Stedman, according to the critics however, made good, and needs only a little more practice against first class players to. reach a high position. Crawford beat Stedman 6—4, 6—4. Crawford and R. Dunlop beat J. Willard and Stedman in the doubles 6—l, 6—B, *-l. WORLD UNION FORMED. BERLIN, November 28. A world union for professional tennis players has oee'n formed including Anglo-Australia, Franco-America, and Germany to safeguard the interests oi professional's, to organise tournaments and international contests.
