PALMERSTON N., November 26

Candidates fjr Palmerston North J. Ilodgkens (Labour) and J. A. Nash (Coalition) are both having large meetings, and receiving an attentive hearing.

A POLITICAL MOVE

CHRISTCHURCH; Nov. 26. A “Black Shirt” brigade organised to ensure that candidates are permitted to have fair hearing at political meetings in and around Christchurch will make its presence felt very shortly, if the plans of a small committee of well known citizens are carried out. Members of the Committee have banded together for action in view of the howling down of candidates recently. Most candidates, however, disapprove of such actions. ' / HON. G. FORBES. *'.] STRATFORD, November 26. Hon. Geo- Forbes arrived to-day and was accorded a civic reception by the Mayor, Mr Percy Thomson, and was entertained at- lunch. Mr Forbes who was accompanied by Mr Masters, received a splended reception.
